I gas refrigeranti HFO (Idro-Fluoro-Olefine) sono una famiglia di refrigeranti derivati dal propano. Sono composti, come gli HFC, da idrogeno, fluoro e carbonio. In virt\u00f9 della loro struttura chimica sono sostanze che risultano essere instabili una volta rilasciate in atmosfera e che quindi si decompongono rapidamente. A differenza dei gas refrigeranti HFC, perci\u00f2, non si accumulano in atmosfera e provocano un effetto serra molto basso.
\nPoich\u00e8 non contengono cloro non provocano nemmeno danni all\u2019ozono atmosferico. Per tali ragioni vengono considerati gas refrigeranti ecologici.<\/p>\n
