H.F.C. (Hydro Fluoro Carbon)

The complete elimination of chlorine from the composition of the refrigerants has led to the birth of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs ) , refrigerants that have no effect as regards the ozone hole . However also these fluids are not perfectly eco-compatible , in that their release into the atmosphere contributes to increase the effect of overheating of the Earth (greenhouse effect ) . For this reason already it promises a gradual their elimination, particularly in those installations where they can be replaced by other types of refrigerants less polluting ( ie which have a much lower GWP value ) . Nowadays, most HFCs are used as components of mixtures . The most appropriate of HFC fluids (and possibly also together with the hydrocarbon ) dosing allows to obtain certain compounds which possess the thermodynamic characteristics required to replace the CFC and HCFC refrigerants in existing plants.
